This class provides critical writing and storytelling skills. The aim is to prepare diverse students for Computer Related STEAM jobs. The class uses culturally relevant material. Students are engaged through personal expression. By expressing themselves the goal is to improve proficiency in English. This addresses students’ skills in; Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, and Language.
This is a 16 Week course on Music and technology. The class teaches students how music and technology can impact society through cultural impact. The class teaches students a wide range of skills from songwriting to music production to sound recording to product design to geography, history, and working in collaborative teams.
This is a 8 Week course to introduce students to TOYZSTEAM. This class was developed on the campus of Carnegie Mellon University. The class gives exposure to music, writing, storytelling, comic books, entrepreneurship, podcasting, hip-hop culture, and creating video game assets. The class also teaches students a wide range of skills from music production to sound recording to product design to marketing, and working in collaborative teams. Students learn to become TOYZMAKERS.
